As – in many cultures – it is Valentine’s Day today, it seems fitting to talk about … passion. Not in the sense of romantic love as traditionally associated with Valentine’s Day, but to describe the importance of finding something that we truly believe in, that motivates and inspires us.
Our mission is to produce confident students who know their passions, are self-directed, and successful in managing the complexities of our evolving world. From those starting their learning journey in Prep Reception to our Seniors making plans for beyond-school, our academic and co-curricular programs are intentionally designed to help our students explore and discover their passions and interests. Whether academic, sporting, performance, arts, service, sustainability – the opportunities are plentiful and give students the chance to experiment, take risks and see what works best for them in a safe and nurturing environment. They learn through their successes, and failures, they learn what brings them joy and happiness, what interests them and what they are passionate about.
Through initiatives such as our Middle School student agency program we are intentional in providing students with opportunities to align their passions and interests with fulfilling a community need. This learning process sparks curiosity and enables them to experience the sense of satisfaction and joy that can result from bringing these factors together.
Every day I am inspired by the passions, dreams, and achievements of our students. It is truly a great honor to watch them grow, discover their skills, passions, and interests, and shape their character to become healthy, and successful contributors to our world.
Yours in collaboration and learning,
Rami Madani
