ISKL hosted the first ever ISAC Climbing Competition on Friday, November 24, 2017. A total of 15 ISKL climbers competed against 35 students from Garden, NEXUS, and Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) on ten routes that designed for this particular event. Michael Bollom, event organizer, IB teaching faculty, and Department Head, commented on the activity saying, “Students busted laudable moves during the competition, and there was lots of excitement as climbers tried to rack up the most points possible in 120 minutes.”
Coming out on top, ISKL won overall, (top five climbers, mixed gender) with our girls sweeping the individual awards, placing first (Carmen Graham), second (Sasha Robinson) and third (Max Ahmed). Oliver Moura deserves an honorable mention (tied for third highest points, but with one additional attempt) and Christoph Priesner was the first to (almost) finish all ten routes.” Hosting events such as the ISAC Climbing Competition is one more way we challenge students to expand their horizons and develop their talents.
