AERO mathematics and science consultant, Erma Anderson recently conducted a three-day mathematics course: Mathematics Specialists in International Schools (MSIS) for Elementary School and Middle School mathematics teachers.
The grand piano is a much-cherished new addition to the ISKL Music Department and was purchased with the assistance of a grant from ISKL’s community-supported Inspiration Fund.
Over the past two years, we have worked together with over 50 teachers from more than 40 local schools. The experience has enriched everyone involved and ultimately helped strengthen student learning and engagement.
“Teachers Teaching Teachers” is a homegrown idea started in early 2017 by Ms. Suji DeHart, ISKL’s Elementary School Librarian. Ms. DeHart developed the initiative in order to support and upskill teachers at refugee schools who are responsible for teaching students aged between 4 and 21 years.
This year, ISKL’s grade 1 teachers have introduced a fun way to prepare students for this time of transition with a Grade 1 A-Z End of Year Activities Countdown.
The Early Childhood program at ISKL has been intentionally designed to ignite a love of learning in their youngest students who are starting their educational journey in Prep Reception (ages 3 to 4) and Prep Junior (ages 4 to 5).
Whilst the teaching methods and approach of our EAL program evolves in complexity as students move through each stage of our school and each stage of language development, the focus on the relationship between family and school remains constant…
