10 Questions: Aish Ghule (’20)

10 Questions is a new Newsletter Feature where we introduce you to Alumni by having them answer 10 questions. Not your typical alumni profile, but a nice way to learn a bit more about fellow alumni. We recently met up with Aishwarya Ghule (‘20) to see what she’s been up to and to ask her 10 questions.

How do you spend your weekends?

“Usually, I hang out with friends and have fun. However, recently my workload for uni has increased significantly, and it’s going to be this way until the end of January, so now I’m spending my weekends trying to relax and manage stress, and really just giving myself a breather. Now I spend my weekends at home watching a movie or listening to a podcast or just sleeping honestly.”

What podcasts do you find inspiring?

“There’s this one particular podcast I’ve been listening to, which is called “Teenager Therapy”, it talks about the struggles of being a college student and how to deal with them. However, it’s not Always super serious, although it addresses challenging topics, it also has silly episodes about the upcoming trends which lighten the mood and give you a laugh.”

Have you ever had five minutes of fame? When? For what?

“I don’t want to answer this question”

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

“The best piece of advice given to me was by my brother. He said “The world might be a bad place, but don’t be a bad person for the world.”

What’s your current favorite show to binge watch on Netflix?

“Gilmore Girls, it’s such a feel-good show. I love it.”

What’s something that you love that everyone you know hates? “Pineapple on pizza.”

What style decisions do you regret from your ISKL days?

“I would tie my hair super tight in a high ponytail almost everyday. I had pretty long hair so it kind of gave me an Ariana Grande feel. It looked cute but I regret it because of the damage it did to my hair which thankfully has recovered from it now.”

Who was/were your favorite staff/faculty members at ISKL?

“Mr Musk, Becky Naughton, Tim Howe, Erin Nicolls, Grant V. Mr Katz.”

Who is one other alumni you are in touch with?

“Every now and then, Cheryl C. (‘20) and I have a nice long conversation that instantly makes me feel better. I freaking love Cheryl”.

If you could relive one day of your life at ISKL, which day would you choose to relive?

“I would love to go back to IASAS just one more time and cheer really loud and just have a lot of fun.”

Aish is studying a four-year course at Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts (Pune, India) because of the freedom and diversity in education offered. She loves listening to the “Teenager Therapy” podcast where five teens tackle adolescent issues and upcoming trends with a fun twist. She finds them inspiring and relatable being a college student herself. She highly recommends it for lifting the mood and a good laugh. If you want to get in touch, you can find her on our Alumni Portal at https://alumni.iskl.edu.my/.
