About ISKL
ISKL’s first campus was in an old British colonial building on Jalan Maxwell which was briefly home to the Sultan of Selangor and thus became known as the Istana, the Malay word for palace. Under the tutelage of our first head of school, Robert Fendley, classes began in September, 1965 with 48 students, growing rapidly and doubling anticipated enrollment in its first year.
When the Malaysian government required the site, the Society for the International School of Kuala Lumpur was granted a 2.6ha parcel of land in Jalan Kerja Ayer Lama, Ampang Jaya. Operations at the new premises commenced in 1976.
In 1992, the Melawati campus opened to accommodate the Elementary School and the Ampang campus became the home of the Middle School and High School. Then, in March 1995, the High School moved to a new wing of the Ampang campus.
With growing enrollments and a strong desire to once again unite all three divisions, a new campus site was found and the new Ampang Hilir campus officially opened to students on August 13, 2018. Read more about ISKL timeline here
Message from the Alumni Engagement and Development Lead
Welcome to the International School of Kuala Lumpur Alumni Community.
No matter how long you were at ISKL, we welcome all former students, parents, faculty, and staff to join this network and start exploring all it has to offer.
Through this ISKL Alumni Community website, you will be able to reconnect with school friends, reminisce, share information, join our wonderful reunions and events, sign up to be a mentor or mentee, look for career or study opportunities and get updates about ISKL news and events.
We hope you will share your own story and news with us to help us bring together and strengthen our ISKL Alumni “family” all over the world. You can also play your part to make those connections stronger, by helping to start or administer one of our groups or organize a reunion. We are always keen to know how you would like to give back to ISKL and the Alumni community.
Once you join, make sure you update your profile and check-in from time to time to catch up on what’s happening in the ISKL Alumni network. We will also send regular newsletters, invitations, and updates.
