Dr. Ramsey, a renowned Choral conductor, and clinician is working with Choral groups in the High School and conducting the Middle School Choral Exchange this weekend in collaboration with students from the International School of Guangzhou. One of her sessions with ISKL faculty and students was entitled: ” FUNdamentals: Basics of Creative Choral Artistry: This session will focus on fundamental elements of the choral experience: tone, breath, rehearsal climate, vowels, vocalism, expression, self-reflection, and personal philosophy. The weekend concert is going to be a fantastic evening of great music!
The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) hosted the 40th annual SEA Forensics and Debate Tournament on their Ampang Campus from February 8 – 10, 2018. The tournament is the longest consecutive event hosted by ISKL and was attended by the honorable YB Dato’ P. Kamalanathan Panchanathan, Deputy Minister of Education (MOE) I. This year the event grew to 14 participating schools and showcased the talent of nearly 200 students from Doha, to Hong Kong, and from public and private schools across Malaysia.
On Saturday, September 30 at the Selangor branch of Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), ISKL Middle School and High School students were recognized for their contribution with the Most Supportive School award.
The event, which took place in conjunction with World Animal Day, was attended by the Duli Yang Maha Mulia, Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin who presented ISKL Middle School and High School with certificates of appreciation.
Beginning in September 2017 ISKL will be offering Dutch language and cultural classes on its campuses. This new program at ISKL will begin with two after school class offerings, one for the first year of secondary (VO1) and one as a combination of the second and third year of secondary (VO 2-3). The classes will be taught by Annemieke van Vliet and Hans Hardeman, De Bontekoe Director in Kuala Lumpur.
Novel Knockout is an annual event organised by The Kuala Lumpur Librarian Network (KLLN) which was proudly hosted by ISKL in 2017. Students across 11 schools read eight books and were quizzed on details – short answers on paper and multiple choice on the iPad – for a total of 160 questions per round!
ISKL could not thank enough its amazing Parent Community. The ISKL Parent Volunteer Appreciation Brunch recognized our parent volunteers who serve graciously and tirelessly on our PTA every year
ISKL will support The 2017 Faisal Cup, a football and netball tournament by “The Dignity for Children Foundation” to benefit the urban poor.
It started with the projects to improve the common space for our cleaning ladies and has now morphed into teaching bus monitors ways to enhance their communication with ISKL students through greater proficiency in the English language.
Our parents were excited to learn from our knowledgeable faculty and thank everyone for their participation and commitment to our community.
