Some farmers took it upon themselves to arrange deliveries of their produce directly to their customers. I think my biggest takeaway from all four years teaching refugees was that these children/teens are no different to us in terms of their willingness to learn. I learned that I am quite privileged to go to a school like ISKL and be able to learn with the facilities that they had. I am also quite happy to have been able to give back!

We had to organize this experience fairly quickly as the food needs were urgent. So far, 38 people have donated, with the total fundraised being RM11,855.

Working with an international organization helped us with our communication and collaboration skills, in terms of our teamwork and working with someone of such high caliber. We learned how to get out of our comfort zone and be part of a cause that is bigger than ourselves.
