PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION

Behind every child that believes in him or herself, is a parent who believed in them first.

We believe that belonging to a vibrant school community is important for parents too. We want our new parents to feel at home as soon as their child joins ISKL, and we are fortunate to have the support of our vibrant Parent Teacher Association (PTA) to help us achieve this.

ISKL’s PTA is a parent-led body created to act as a liaison between parents, teachers, administration and our Board of Directors. In addition to arranging community building events, the PTA is also responsible for welcoming new families. This means when your child joins ISKL, you will receive a warm welcome and plenty of opportunities to become involved in our school community. The role of the PTA at ISKL is to connect and support the entire community through inclusion, cooperation, and kindness. The PTA celebrates ISKL various countries and cultures and strives to integrate all of our unique stories and experiences to benefit the education of our children.

All parents are welcome to join PTA organized activities which include opportunities to volunteer and enrich the learning experience of our students, community events and social gatherings. They also provide a fantastic and friendly resource for families settling into Kuala Lumpur as well as a great way to make new friends.

Volunteering is an easy way to feel part of the extended expat community and the benefits are not only direct to the volunteer in terms of fulfillment and friendship but also help the rest of the family build social connections across the school. Children seeing their parent or parents on campus will also have the reassurance of knowing that, even though they are in a new city and new school, that they are supported.
