The INSPIRE PLACES campaign supports ISKL’s mission to provide an exceptional educational experience for our students by funding innovative and sustainability-focused projects, places, and partnerships.

We are grateful to various individuals and corporate donors for their support and generosity, which assisted in the transition in 2018 to the Ampang Hilir campus and supported us in our commitment to creating a more sustainable and welcoming campus for everyone.

A vibrant hub of creativity where our empowered students took the reign of the design process under the guidance of a professional. The HS Theater Commons is a captivating reflection of student creativity, where ideas bloom and thrive, inspiring a culture of innovation. Not just a place to collaborate and share ideas, the space motivates students to contemplate a potential career or further education in the realm of the performing arts industry.

Our HS Gardening Club created a garden that not only cultivates plant life but also fosters curiosity and a sense of community among our students. To add to the beauty of the space, our students designed a colorful mural that genuinely makes the garden their own. This upgraded space has become a thriving hub for After School Activities (ASAs), where students can learn, explore, and connect in a truly inspiring environment.

Within a mere week, the CAS and Sustainability office underwent a remarkable metamorphosis, thanks to the addition of striking living jungle walls. These magnificent walls have since been thriving and blooming, providing a vivid and tangible symbol of our community's steadfast commitment to advancing sustainability.

The Kanopi ES Rooftop Playground is an incredible space built for ISKL students and designed to inspire learning beyond the classroom. With two multilevel towers, a low ropes course, and other exciting equipment, the playground encourages motor skill development, imagination, and creativity. Constructed using natural materials that blend seamlessly with the rest of the campus, the playground is a testament to our commitment to sustainability. It's a sanctuary that offers breathtaking views of KL's skyline and provides an extraordinary learning experience for our students.

The Coaches Garden is a unique space dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the hard work and dedication of all ISKL's coaches. It is nestled between the MS and HS teaching and learning wings. The Thomas family, whose sons have graduated from ISKL, contributed to the school by creating this beautiful garden to bring more wild space and a Malaysian jungle feel to the campus. To achieve this, ten trees were rescued and replanted in the garden, making the space even lusher with local and native plants. These trees provide shade for students and offer another opportunity to interact with nature in their daily lives. It is a lasting legacy of the coaches who have contributed so much to the school.

The Eco Garden is a breathtaking and expansive space that serves as an outdoor classroom, offering students an immersive and enlightening experience. Surrounded by a lush and diverse array of flora and fauna, the garden provides an ideal setting for students to learn about the intricate biological processes that support life on our planet. From the tiniest microbes to the towering trees, students can explore and appreciate the wonders of nature firsthand. Through collaboration and hands-on activities, students can better understand the interdependence of living things and the importance of preserving our environment.

The Jungle Walls are a magnificent sight to behold, offering a vast array of plants that provide an exhilarating outdoor learning experience for both biology and art students. The Jungle Wall, located at the entrance of ES, is particularly popular among ISKL's younger learners, as it offers a safe and captivating multi-sensory experience with plants that excite every sense.

The Community Edible Garden is located in its amphitheater at the heart of ISKL. The garden provides an opportunity for the ISKL community to discover Malaysia's native herbs and plants while offering students an educational experience. The garden has been created to encourage collaboration among students, with the ES, MS, and HS gardening clubs contributing ideas for new plants, herbs, and vegetables to grow. The garden features a diverse range of herbs, both native and non-native to Malaysia, allowing ISKL's international community to explore and learn something new.

Alumni Amanda Soo's ('20) internship at the ISKL Advancement Department allowed her to showcase her artistic talents and creativity. With her task of painting a location map on a busy walkway, Amanda designed and painted a stunning mural that helps students and visitors navigate the school and shares her perspective on the educational journey at ISKL. Her artwork has added vibrancy and life to the school, making students feel more at home and safe. This beautiful integration of art with daily life is a testament to the creativity and unique contributions that ISKL students bring to the campus.

The spine of the school has been transformed by two magnificent murals created by alumni and current staff member Ayesha Zulkifly ('06), which are not just beautiful works of art but also depict the story of ISKL significantly for the community. The murals pay tribute to our home country of Malaysia and represent the essence of ISKL by using vibrant colors that signify ISKL's Schoolwide Learning Results (SLRs). They are a source of inspiration and pride for all who see them.
