The Elementary Life-Centered Education (LCE), an extension of our robust Learning Resource Department, provides additional support for students requiring adaptive skills instruction, social communication skills, or modified academics. The program is designed to meet the needs of students who have more significant intellectual, learning, or developmental differences in an inclusive setting.
Students accepted into the program receive personalized academic programming with embedded social-emotional learning from highly trained special educators. Each Student Success Plan (SSP) is strength-based and intentionally designed to foster student independence and self-advocacy. Goals for inclusion are intentional and include opportunities for the students to engage in meaningful classroom experiences with their peers.
Students are offered an engaging and fun learning environment that includes a life-skills curriculum and transition goals created in partnership with the families. The Elementary School LCE multidisciplinary team includes highly-qualified teachers, inclusion specialists, a Speech and Language therapist, grade-level counselors and an educational psychologist. Occupational therapy services are also available from an outside provider during school hours in our sensory room.
