Sharing knowledge with peers is the cornerstone of professional development and ISKL was delighted to have eight representatives present at the 50th Annual East Asia Regional Council of Schools Leadership Conference (EARCOS) held in Kuala Lumpur this month.  EARCOS comprises 165 member schools across East Asia and represents over 138,000 students. Its mission is to inspire learning, foster intercultural understanding, and exceptional educational practices.

Leading and facilitating a range of workshops, ISKL presenters shared their insights on the school’s approach to continuous improvement including managing the change to standards-based assessment in high school, leadership in middle school, streamlining teacher evaluation and, best practice in admissions and marketing.

Head of School, Dr. Hudson and Director of Project Operations, Dave Perrau led a “walking workshop”, at ISKL’s state-of-the-art campus in Ampang Hilir which opened in August 2018. The workshop reviewed how ISKL designed and developed the optimum, collaborative learning environment for its 1,600 plus students.

Rami Madani, Director of Learning and special EARCOS presenter, led two full-day workshops on curriculum leadership and the components of effective school leadership.

Dr. Hudson, also an EARCOS Board member, described the conference as “a dynamic and inspiring opportunity. Learning is a lifelong, transformational journey for all of us and it was truly motivating to learn from luminaries in global education.  ISKL was proud to be an active participant, sharing lessons-learned on a range of leadership topics in international education with our peers from across the region”.
