Wonderful to welcome to ISKL Yolanda Cantu Garcia (’02), who was back in Kuala Lumpur in February as a delegate to APEC 2020. Yolanda, who lives in Chicago but hails from Mexico, was one of the first generation of Obama Foundation Scholars in 2016, and works on education curriculum development for students in at-risk communities. Although she only attended ISKL Elementary School from 1993 to 1995, Yolanda says, “ISKL was unique in my life experience, with lots of my skills based on this foundation.” She was excited to see the new campus, purchase some ISKL Alumni merchandise, and thrilled to see some old friends, including Jit Kaur, a former teaching assistant and now Admission Technology Manager.
