In our Elementary division, we celebrated the learning journey of our youngest learners with a truly joyous exhibition of Prep Reception and Prep Junior artwork created during the course of the year. The display showcases the amazing creativity and ingenuity of our students as well as their progress throughout the year. While current SOPs, unfortunately, prevent our parents from experiencing the exhibition in person, we’re sharing plenty of photographs in ES News so that you don’t miss out!
School-wide, we celebrated opportunities to ‘Restore’ our planet with students, faculty, and staff participating in Earth Week activities and learning about the actions we can take to affect positive change. It is cause for hope to see the learning that has taken place this week and the commitments our students have made to make a difference to our planet.
We congratulate our very own High School Principal Jeff Farrington on receiving the US-based National Association for Secondary School Principals (NASSP) Principal of the Year for 2021. This award is sponsored by the NASSP, in affiliation with the United States Department of State Office of Overseas Schools. It is a wonderful honor for both Jeff and ISKL and we are very proud and delighted that his leadership, professionalism, and commitment to excellent education have been recognized.
We are also delighted to announce that ISKL has been shortlisted in the Relocate Awards in the category ‘School Providing Outstanding Relocation Support.’ This is the second year in a row ISKL has been recognized in this prestigious global award, with our school receiving Highly Commended in the same category in 2020. This honor is the result of the care and effort of a great many individuals and I would like to say a particular thank you to our wonderful Student Admissions Representatives (STARs) whose campus tours bring the ISKL experience to life for prospective families and to our PTA who do so much to help our new families settle into our community. The winner will be announced in June and we will keep you updated.
As you will read in Development News, we have had a fantastic response to our campaign to help us complete our new Elementary rooftop playground by the end of this academic year. Again, we thank our amazing PTA whose fundraising efforts have provided the majority of funding for this project via the Inspiration Fund. The playground will bring so much joy and fun to our Elementary students and we thank everyone for their contribution – in every form – that has made this project possible. We have a very special community to celebrate!
