Selamat Datang! Welcome to our new academic year and the first issue of Panther News for 2023-2024.
On behalf of everyone at ISKL, I extend a very warm welcome to our returning families and a special hello to our 327 new students and their families joining us this year. You have joined an inclusive, caring, and dynamic community united by our Vision and Mission and we are very much looking forward to getting to know you. Over the past eight school days, it has been such a great pleasure to see the positive energy of our students. They have demonstrated care, mutual support, and excitement. We know that our committed teachers will continue to nurture their growth and well-being.
Back to School Bash
We hope that all ISKL community members will be able to join us for our annual Back to School Bash (BTSB) tomorrow (August 19) between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. It’s a fun event for the entire community and a wonderful way to celebrate the start of the year. Our thanks to the PTA’s BTSB Committee led by Kathy Bouttchenko for the time and energy they have put into organizing the day.
Open House
The partnership between school and parents is core to supporting student learning, connecting our community, and building shared understanding and expectations. Over the course of the year, we will be providing plenty of opportunities to learn and grow together, beginning with Open House next week.
Open House is a great opportunity for parents to meet their child’s teachers, see their classrooms and learning spaces, and find out more about grade-level learning objectives. We very much hope you will be able to join us for these important divisional events, which frame the year ahead for your child/ren’s social, emotional, and academic learning.
HoS & Parents in Partnership Session
We also hope parents will join us for our first Head of School & Parents in Partnership session on September 6 when we will take a look at what’s in store for our school, students, and community this year. These sessions are wonderful opportunities for us to connect and share learning and understanding.
