The ISKL Inspiration Art Collection was established alongside the official opening of the Ampang Hilir campus in 2018. It is an exciting initiative that recognizes the valuable role of art form in our entire community. Proudly funded by ISKL’s Inspiration Fund, the aim is to select and purchase one piece of artwork from a graduating Grade 12 Visual Arts student. Its aim is to build upon a diverse collection of art to be savored and showcased within the school for years to come. It depicts a true reflection of the artistic achievements of each graduating class and, in turn, both celebrates and commemorates the anniversary of the iconic Ampang Hilir campus.
To date, ISKL has purchased five artworks selected from an assortment of talented Grade 12 artists each using a variety of mediums. Every piece has a dialect that reinforces and represents the artistic expression of the individual artists in order to carry their intended meaning forward to its future audience.
They range from issues including anxiety and overcoming negativity, personal growth using animals to symbolize the fragility of life, through to the representation of Malaysia’s colonial period, and most recently addressing how creativity can inspire deprived communities, exposing them to the outside world, when otherwise they are concealed behind walls.
We invite all ISKL community members to take pleasure in exploring these inspirational works of art that are produced by the creative talent instilled and encouraged in all ISKL students.
