ISKL is a school that honors the past, reflects on the present and looks to the future. Our culture is one of empathy which emphasizes the importance of looking through the lens of others and working in partnership.
The two-way partnership that exists between our school and our families is fundamental in supporting student learning, connecting our community, and building shared understanding and expectations.
To continue to nurture our parent-school relationship we will be rolling out a program of “in partnership with parents” events which will include interactive sessions to stimulate thinking and share learning about topics which affect the social, emotional and academic development of our students. We will also be running workshops which, in addition to developing new skills, will give parents a greater understanding of the learning that takes place in our classrooms.
In keeping with our culture of partnership and empathy we are starting a new tradition in Panther News which brings together past, present, and future. Each week a new guest editor from our community will share their perspective of ISKL. Looking through the editorial lens of students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff is a wonderful way of helping create a collective appreciation of the many different aspects of ISKL we all experience.
Yours in collaboration and learning,
