Tomorrow (Saturday, June 3), we have the joy of celebrating the graduating Class of 2023. We are so proud of this cohort of amazing students and thank them for the contributions they have made to our school and each other. Graduation is truly a significant milestone in their lives and we are privileged to have been part of their learning journey.
We are looking forward to seeing them on the stage wearing their cap and gown and celebrating the joyous and emotional moment when they move their tassel from right to left and officially graduate. We are also looking forward to seeing ISKL’s batik graduation sash around their shoulders in another ISKL tradition. The print was designed by our students to honor Malaysia and reflect our school’s diversity and history and is a wonderful symbol of what makes our school so special. I know that the entire ISKL community joins me in wishing our seniors all the best and we invite everyone to view the Graduation Ceremony at 2:00 pm via our Livestream broadcast using this link.
Amongst the many end-of-year celebrations taking place this week, we also celebrated the creativity and talents of our Middle School students as our inaugural MS Fortnight Arts Festival came to a close. Over two fantastic weeks we have enjoyed an amazing range of events from exhibitions, open mic sessions, and dance performances, to concerts by the MS band, choir, and strings. The depth of talent and passion displayed by our students has been remarkable.
Celebrations next week include Moving On ceremonies for our Grade 5 (June 9) and Grade 8 (June 8) students as they transition to Middle and High School respectively. We also have our unique Clap Out Ceremony starting at 11:30 am next Friday (June 9). This is a wonderful ISKL tradition and an emotional experience as our community line the corridors to farewell students heading off on their break and to say goodbye to our leavers as they become part of our alumni community. It is an event not to be missed and we look forward to seeing our parents there!
