I did it because I know out there some parents don’t have time to read to their kids. So far (there are) about 11 books available but more are coming soon. The video with the most views is ‘Tough Guys Have Feelings Too’ and the Author read out and commented on my video.
She was excited to see the new campus, purchase some ISKL Alumni merchandise, and thrilled to see some old friends, including Jit Kaur, a former teaching assistant and now Admission Technology Manager.
Dennis spent his Elementary years at the Melawati campus before moving to Vancouver, Canada. He says his time in the Accelerate Reader program at Melawati, competing with his best friends Kevin and Ariq, allowed him to gain excellent English skills quickly, noting his class was the first to “run the school” in Grade 5.
The award is named for Alan McLean, ISKL High School Mathematics and Theory of Knowledge teacher, who worked at ISKL during the 1980s and again from 2006 until his passing in September 2019.
Mr Burniske asked us to read this before meeting on the bridge. In my view, this homework was more important than the meetup because it taught us about Mr. Burniske; the book was so special to him that he quoted it in his final days.
The fund aims to provide an educational experience that truly inspires and encourages student excellence with projects that both complement ISKL’s rigorous curriculum, giving students every opportunity to succeed as spirited 21st-century citizens.
Students in the Art ASA program, under the tutelage of Art Teacher, Nalini Krishan, created the fantastic paintings for the set design for both the New York city zoo and skyline. Costumes were made by noted costume designer, Ms. Dominique Devorsine, who also happened to make the same costumes for the High School musical last semester, ‘Bring it on.’
Everyone is new and is probably feeling just as nervous as you are. Don’t be afraid to go out and introduce yourself to new people, and if you’re interested in certain things, join an organization or club! It’s an excellent way to make this new huge place seem just a little bit smaller, because ultimately what you put into college, will be what you get out of it.
Working with an international organization helped us with our communication and collaboration skills, in terms of our teamwork and working with someone of such high caliber. We learned how to get out of our comfort zone and be part of a cause that is bigger than ourselves.
Teams were prepared and eagerly awaited the challenge; elimination could only mean one thing – it was a team’s last chance to put forth their best effort on the fields.
After 72 rounds and six elimination rounds, we finally have a winner!
Held annually, this year ISKL and nine other competing schools from Malaysia converged at the new Ampang campus to partake in the fields of Solo Acting, Duet Acting, Oral Interpretation, Original Oratory, Debate, Impromptu and Extemporaneous Speaking.
As a family who struggles with sleep, I wanted to come and hear Jane speak. She did an excellent talk on boundaries last year, which I found very helpful as a parent. Today’s workshop was extremely helpful as it reinforces that if you are looking to make changes for sleep – you also need to ensure that you are keeping those boundaries with your kids.
